TDP changes floor leaders in GVMC
VISAKHAPATNAM: Ending speculation, the TDP has changed its floor leader, deputy floor leader and whip in the Greaater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation.
Ch. V. Pattabhiram replaces Nalluri Bhaskara Rao and Palla Srinivasa Rao his deputy Kona Tata Rao while Bandaru Srinivasa Rao will be the whip in the place of Peela Suhasini.
Announcing the replacement in a statement here on Wednesday, TDP district Convener Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu said the leaders in GVMC worked but were changed so as to provide opportunity for the others. The new incumbents would have a term of one year and would be changed after that period to pave way for new faces.
Several factors contributed to the change in the TDP leaders in the GVMC. One of among them was the unhappiness expressed by former Chief Minister and TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu over the opposition not being effective in the GVMC during his visit to the city in February.
Though there had been a subdued talk of change for sometime, the TDP corporators intensified efforts after their Congress counterparts succeeded in replacing their leaders in the corporation. This had led to Behera Bhaskara Rao and K. Hanoku becoming floor leader and deputy floor leader respectively.
