Techies took part in KR Market cleaning drive
BANGALORE: More than 60 software engineers from various IT companies took part in the garbage cleaning drive programme at KR Market on Sunday. The techies with great enthusiasm cleared four loads of garbage to create awareness about maintaining of cleanliness among the traders. This programme has been organized by the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).
Four trucks and earthmovers were used to transport the garbage from the market. City mayor BS Sathyanarayana said “We are happy as we had been waiting for software engineers to take part in this cleaning drive. I hope in future also software engineers will take part in this programme.”
During the programme the techies also cleaned the parking lot of the market. For the past two months, BBMP has been organizing cleaning drive once in a week.
