Tewari order on TS-1 certificate: First clear dues, only then you’ll get it
New MC Commissioner Rahul Tewari on Tuesday passed new orders for getting TS-1 certificates.
While ex-commissioner R K Verma after facing opposition from the
House had abolished water, sewerage, house tax and development charges
and ordered that ‘residents can get TS-1 certificates without clearing
all these dues’, Tewari revoked the earlier orders. Now it is again
mandatory to clear water, sewerage and house tax dues and only then TS-1
will be issued by the civic body.
However, development charges have been kept out of the system
which were introduced by Verma but later cancelled after strong
opposition from councillors. Then Verma also abolished water, sewerage
and house tax dues besides development charges, and allowed issuing of
TS-1 certificates without clearing any dues, the step which was taken
under pressure of the councillors.
