Kharar: Four members of the inter-state notorious gang of armed robbers and hardcore criminals, including its kingpin Randeep Kumar alias Rinku alias Vijay Kumar alias Topi, his younger brother Rohit Kumar, Babban (all from Amritsar) and Ranjit Singh alias Rocky of Tilak Nagar, Delhi, went to the custody of Gurdaspur police on Wednesday evening after their four-day custody with Mohali police ended.Turning down the Mohali police plea seeking another extension in the police custody of the gangsters, Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate KK Goel Wednesday ordered to send the gangsters in 14-day judicial custody and directed them to lodge in Ropar jail.
The local police, which produced the gangsters before the court under tight security cover, took the bandits to Ropar jail, from where Gurdaspur police procured their custody on the basis of production warrant already procured by them from a Pathankot court. “Our men are still on way bringing the gangsters to Gurdaspur, where we will interrogate them on the cases of our area in which they were wanted,” confirmed Gurdaspur SSP Varinder Pal Singh, while adding that after producing the gangsters before a Pathankot court tonight, the gangsters will then be moved to Gurdaspur.
However, the fifth gangster Mohammad Abbas Panjar of Anantnag in Jammu was still admitted at Chandigarh PGIMER with bullet injury that he sustained during the fierce encounter that had left two gangsters killed in Sunny Enclave near here on Friday.
