Urban local bodies told to comply with disclosur
HYDERABAD: The State Government has directed all municipal corporations and municipalities to comply with rules related to disclosure of information pertaining to their departments.
The Government, in an order today, specified the information to be disclosed to the public and the forms to be used for the purpose.
I t wanted urban local bodies (ULBs) to publish the information using various means, including on websites.
According to the order, a ULB has to publish its basic details, composition, mode of access to the minutes of its meetings, a directory containing designations of officers and employees, particulars of officers who are competent to grant permissions, concessions, authorisations to officers for each branch, officers responsible for delivery of various services and their contact numbers and financial statement. Other details include Information about plans, proposed expenditure and activities taken up, subsidy programmes, list of beneficiaries, particulars of master plan and details of major works being undertaken along with their value, scheduled completion and income projections. Taxes and non-taxes that remained uncollected and reasons for it, list of defaulters of property tax, revenues transferred from government, plan and non-plan grants released and budget allocation for STs, SCs, women and children and their utilisation also form part of the disclosures to be made through various means of publication.
Regarding socio-economic data, the government wanted details on 44 items to be disclosed.
However, no date for completing the disclosure process has been mentioned.
