Vadodara to get new mayor today

Vadodara: Vadodara will get a new mayor on Friday, when incumbent mayor Jyotiben Pandya’s two-and-a-half-year tenure ends.

Pandya was elected mayor as the post was reserved for a woman candidate, which is no more the case.

Among the probable candidates are Chaitanya Desai, son of former state BJP president Makrand Desai, former mayor Shabdsharan Brahmbhatt and standing committee chairman Vijay Shah.
