Vijayalakshmi takes over as Municipal Commissioner
Promises to work for all-round development of the city.
Ch. Vijayalakshmi, new Commissioner of the municipal
corporation on Wednesday promised to attend to people’s civic woes
speedily and strive hard to give a facelift to the fast-expanding city.
Taking
over charge from outgoing Municipal Commissioner S. Ravindra Babu, she
said with her experience in handling civic issues in different cities
and towns, she would do her best to resolve water, drainage and other
civic woes and usher in all-round development of the city. Accepting a
tree sapling from Volunteer Environment Organisation chairman G.
Veerabhadrachari, she said she would contribute her might to the cause
of ‘Green Ongole’. Earlier, she had served in different capacities
including the Additional Mission Director of the Mission for Elimination
of Poverty in Municipal Areas (MEPMA).
