VMC holds meet on BRTS
VIJAYAWADA: Krishna district Collector Peeyush Kumar asked the
officials to take the necessary steps to register Special Purpose
Vehicle (SPV) for Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) project here on
Wednesday. The Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) conducted a
meeting on BRTS project. On the occasion, Mr. Peeyush Kumar asked the
VMC and the APSRTC to register the SPV as a company. He also wanted
registration of buses and necessary measures on bus stoppages,
intelligent transport system and passenger information system.
Mr. Peeyush Kumar suggested to the officials to select the logo,
caption by conducting public poll. Chief Engineer Yohan, City Planner
Vidyullata, Executive Engineer Karthik and others were present.
In another meeting, Mr. Peeyush Kumar told the Gollapudi and
Jakkampudi farmers that a housing complex, school of planning and
architecture, exhibition ground could be developed if they were willing
to part their lands. The farmers asked the Collector to provide
infrastructure at the lands earmarked for them in the layout before
going ahead with housing projects.
