Zaveri in a letter to the VMC commissioner has stated that the
consultant appointed to formulate the new 26 town planning schemes had
made presentations twice to senior VMC functionaries. On the first
occasion, this was done to the senior VMC functionaries and, later, to
members of the standing committee and the town planning committee. He

Zaveri said that it was improper to discuss such key issues only with a
select few functionaries. He added that in the past too when there were
allegations and counter-allegations regarding such schemes,
presentations were made to all elected members of VMC.
The
veteran Congress councillor said that there were several members of the
general board who had in-depth knowledge regarding the subject. He added
that their suggestions could be incorporated in the new schemes.
