VMC seizes shops
The Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) has seized
the shops for allegedly failing to pay the property tax. Deputy
Commissioner (Revenue) in charge Z. Srinivas Rao and his team seized
shops located in the city.
The house owners have not cleared the dues despite repeated reminders from the Corporation.
In all, the total property tax dues are Rs. 32,780.
Mr. Rao said that the owners have not responded to the reminders.
But,
the business was going on as usual in the shops, he said, adding, legal
action would be initiated if the shops were opened without VMC
permission.
Assistant Commissioner I. Vijayalakshmi,
Revenue Inspector V. Prabhavathi, bill collector D. Bhaskarachari and
others were present.
