Ward bypoll on April 7
BANGALORE: A by-election to the BBMP council will be held from A Narayanapura (Ward No 56), near K R Puram on April 7. The bypoll was necessitated by the disqualification of the sitting A Narayanpuracorporator S S Prasad of BJP.
He allegedly submitted false caste certificate to become eligible to
contest from the ward which was reserved for candidates from BC (A)
category. The defeated Congress candidate challenged Prasad’s election, alleging that he had filed a false caste certificate. The state election commission (SEC) disqualified Prasad.
