Ward-level projects at one go by Nov
Bangalore, October 20, DHNS:
While the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Commissioner halted all projects approved in the last two financial years in the aftermath of the Work Code scam, Mayor S K Nataraj on Wednesday said Corporators can take up the projects under the ward grants, if necessary.
“The councillors should ascertain the urgency of the particular projects approved in the two previous financial years and then take a decision to include them afresh in their ward grants. However, no specific allocations will be made for the projects by the Palike,” said Nataraj.
Meanwhile, with concerns over time running out for implementing the Palike budget 2010-11, the Mayor ward-level projects will be taken up simultaneously in all the 198 wards in November. The tenders will be called once allotments are finalised. All attempts will be made to complete the projects in six months, the Mayor said.
“However, there are possibilities of works spilling over to the next financial year,” said Katte Satayanarayana, ruling party member.
