Water supply on alternate days
As water flow in the Swarna river is declining by the
day at both the Baje and Shiroor dams, the Udupi City Municipal Council
(CMC) has decided to provide drinking water supply to the city and eight
surrounding gram panchayats on alternate days from Friday, till the
onset of monsoon.
Municipal president P. Yuvaraj and
municipal commissioner D. Manjunathayya said that people should use
drinking water with care and caution.
Drinking water
should not be used for construction of buildings, watering gardens or
plantations or for washing vehicles or for other wasteful purposes.
