Water supply to many areas in the city will be affected on Sunday
owing to interconnection works on the main transmission line carrying
water from Aruvikkara reservoir, the Kerala Water Authority (KWA)
notified in a press release.
Starting from 6 am on November 10 to
6 am the next day, water supply to the areas under four sections of the
KWA – Pattoor, Palayam, Kowdiar and the newly-formed Peroorkada section
– will be disrupted. The areas likely to be affected include
Vellayambalam, Sasthamangalam, Vazhuthacaud, Thycaud, Jagathy, Palayam,
Statue, Overbridge, Bakery Junction, Murinjapalam, Thekkummoodu,
Vanchiyoor, Pattoor, Chackai, Kannammoola, Goureesapattom, Kunnukuzhy,
Shangumugham, Veli, Plamoodu, PMG, Pettah, Valiathura, Airport and
Thumba under the Pattoor and Palayam sections.
Areas under the
Kowdiar and Peroorkada sections include Kesavadasapuram, Pattom,
Kumarapuram, Burma Road, Jawahar Nagar, Mannanthala, Kudappanakunnu,
Harveypuram, Peroorkada, Kowdiar, Kuravankonam, Marappalam, Pothujanam
Lane, Chettikunnu, Avittam Road, Medical College and Pongumoodu.
Other
notified areas are Ulloor, Prasanth Nagar, Pulayanarkota, Chalakuzhi,
Paruthippara, Muttada, Kazhakkoottam, Manvila, Attipra, Kattela and
Pullukodu, the release said.
