Weekend repair for flyover
Hyderabad, Sept. 8: The upcoming long weekend has come as the ideal opportunity for the traffic police and the GHMC to take up repairs on the expansion joints of the Khairatabad flyover road. The BT Road on the flyover has lately been full of craters as the expansion joints under the surface have been distorted.
Though temporary repairs were done, engineering experts had suggested that repairing the expansion joints would allow the road surface to be intact for longer durations.
The GHMC and traffic police were waiting for two to three days of holidays to take up the repairs. Since Id-ul-Fitr is likely on Friday and Vinayak Chavithi on Saturday and Sunday, the traffic police gave the go-ahead to GHMC to carry out the repairs.
The police commissioner imposed following traffic restriction in view of the repairs on the nights of September 10, 11 and 12:
* Traffic coming from Panjagutta, Raj Bhavan, Anandnagar should go towards Nirankari.
* Traffic from Tank Bund should go towards Imax, Khairatabad Grandhalaya, Railway Gate or Imax, Mint Compound, Amrutha Castle, Secretariat or Necklace Road, Karbala Maidan, Ranigunj, Ministers Road or Rasoolpura.
