The Palike has already begun the drive to fill pot holes, and Dasarahalli and Mahadevapura zones have already been declared as ‘pothole free zones’.
The commissioner visited the west zone on Tuesday and noticed that more than 1015 kms of roads had been dug up by the Water Board and not restored to its earlier condition.
Siddaiah asked the Water Board officials to undertake restoration works at the earliest as there were many complaints from the public.
BBMP executive engineer stated that the Water Board officials were not responding to the BBMP’s complaints.
The commissioner asked for notices to be issued to the officials concerned and departments, and also levy a fine for the same.
He also told individuals and organisations that any works undertaken would require the BBMP’s permission and all parties should adhere to the terms of the BBMP and restore the road within the specified time frame.
TRADE LICENCES
It was also observed that nearly 17,000 trade licences had been issued in the zone and `60 lakhs had been generated from this.
The commissioner was informed that by March more than 50 thousand trade licences would be issued.
