YSR statue at GHMC gets competition
The TDP corporators led by TDP floor leader Singireddy Srinivas Reddy reportedly brought the statues of the national leaders from Vijayawada.
However, the Standing Committee gave green signal to the YSR statue while denying it for the other leaders saying that portraits of the same would be placed at appropriate places in the head office.
The issue had cropped up when Congress corporators led by GHMC mayor Banda Karthika Reddy installed the `20 lakh statue of YSR. It was to be unveiled by the chief minister next month to coincide with the completion of one-year term of GHMC council. But the TDP corporators have been vehemently opposing installing of the statue.
Singi Reddy said that before installing the YSR statue, TDP wanted the state government to first install the statues of national leaders.
