GHMC-AASARA bags national award

HYDERABAD: ‘AASARA’ of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation bagged ‘Vayoshreshta Samman’ in recognition of exemplary contribution in the field of ageing under institutional award for service category by the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
Exemplary contribution
Mayor B. Kartika Reddy informed that the Ministry confers such an award on eminent senior citizens and institutions for their exemplary contribution to the national and social life every year as a part of observance of International Day of the Older Persons.
The award function would be held on October 1 at Kamani Auditorium, Copernicus Marg, New Delhi with Mukul Wasnik, Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment, as the chief guest.
Additional Commissioner G.D. Priyadarshini, president AASARA – GHMC, will be receiving the award, a press release said.
