MUMBAI: The Mumbai Mayor Vishwanath Mahadeshwar of the Shiv Sena said on Friday that the party would not allow any kind of open space reservation change in the draft Development Plan (DP) 2034 following the directives of the party president Uddhav Thackeray.
Over a year after it was released by the BMC, the draft DP 2034 will
be tabled in the civic house today for a final nod. The house of
corporators is required to send the draft DP 2034 to the state
government latest by July 18 this month. “The draft DP discussion is
starting today and our party chief Uddhav Thackeray has instructed us
that no kind of reservations change pertaining to open spaces like
recreational ground or playground should be allowed to be done,”
Mahadeshwar said.
He also said that their opposition to the metro car shed in Aarey colony
would continue to remain as before. “In the civic improvements
committee, we have already raised our opposition to the car shed in
Aarey and our position is same now, ” said Mahadeshwar.
